Get to know our physiotherapist, Tom.

What do you love about being a physiotherapist?

I love using all the knowledge I have learnt over the years to make a significant difference to each person’s physical wellbeing. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and the motivation they have. It inspires me to try something new.

How do you spend your down time?

I spend time with my wife, daughter and son venturing to Freshwater and Queenscliff beaches, finding the newest local cafe or restaurant or at a comedy night.

How do you try and better yourself?

I am always sharpening my Italian vocabulary, learning how to surf, lifting weights in the gym, cycling in the local area and improvising songs to sing to my kids.

What sports do you play?

I have played many sports over the years - cricket, rugby, football, oztag, touch football, snowboarding, cycling, baseball to name a few. I regularly keep my fitness by trail running in the National Parks in the local area.

How do you drink your coffee?

I prefer a piccolo, but you might catch me sipping a cappuccino slowly over the course of day.

As highly qualified sports physio in Balgowlah, we can offer the same quality of service professional athletes receive directly to the local Northern Beaches community.

This video features the original clinic! Balgowlah Physiotherapy was established in 2017 as a small specialised clinic personalised to assist local GPs and specialists in chronic cases. The clinic aims to deliver on a signature quality promise of utmost respect, professionalism and exceeding expectations.

Experience the difference

Balgowlah Physiotherapy was established in 2017 to combine analytical postgraduate expertise and over 10 years of clinical experience with the unprecedented collaboration and integration of resources with the dedicated, hard-working doctors at Sydney Road Family Medical Practice.

Together with impressive digital access to local radiology clinics, each case is highly scrutinised to uphold the highest standard of rehabilitation.

At Balgowlah Physio, we are frequently using the latest technology to take physiotherapy assessment to a new level. Tom uses ultrasound to help retrain abdominal muscles to optimise movement patterns in real time.

In December 2023, Balgowlah Physiotherapy moved from its original location on Level 1 inside Sydney Road Family Medical Practice to a purpose built practice at

71 New Street West Balgowlah Heights.
