Rooney 2018

Richardson 2018

Supplementary material

  • Statistically, rates of returning to pivoting sports are no different between those who chose ACLR or exercise rehab.

  • Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries result in degenerative change and associated symptoms in approximately 50% of affected knees at 10- 15 years post injury despite management chosen.

  • Significantly increased radiographic OA and patella tendon issues with patella tendon ACLR & hamstring atrophy, proximal retraction & altered hamstring mechanics with a hamstring graft.

  • Even though patients can obviously cope long term without the ligament, the intervening ends of the ACL can re-attach.
